Considerations

The Bambu Dual-Sided Smooth PEI Plate is not compatible with the Bambu Lab A1 due to strict requirements regarding plate thickness.

If bubbles appear on the underside of the plate, heating it on the heatbed at a temperature as high as 80 degrees for several hours may help eliminate them.

Dust and grease buildup on the build plate will reduce adhesion. It is recommended to clean the surface regularly with detergent and water to maintain optimal adhesion.

Do not clean the smooth PEI with acetone, as this will damage the PEI surface.

Always wait a few minutes before removing printed models so that the plate can cool down and the prints can be easily removed. This prevents damage to the plate and ensures a long product lifespan.

Carefully sanding the surface with fine sandpaper (600 grit is recommended) can help restore adhesion.

The smooth PEI plate is considered a consumable part that will deteriorate over time. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects, not cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents, or cracks. Only plates that are defective upon arrival are covered under warranty.

High Z-axis precision printing

Using a smooth PEI plate contributes to improved Z-axis precision during the printing process, ensuring greater accuracy and consistency in vertical dimensions. These qualities make the Smooth PEI Plate an excellent choice for printing parts that require a high degree of fit accuracy, where precise alignment and tight tolerances are crucial.

Smooth and matte surface finish

Using a specially selected matte PEI sheet can provide a smooth and matte texture to the underside of the printed object, enhancing its overall appearance.

Compatibility with various filaments, especially for PLA

PEI allows for printing with common materials such as PLA, TPU, PETG, and PVA. Note: Apply liquid glue or a glue stick to prevent the sheet from tearing when printing with filaments other than PLA.

Prevent warping with reliable magnetic adhesion

The Bambu Smooth PEI plate features a 0.5 mm thick spring steel plate that improves magnetic adhesion. This helps prevent warping and ensures optimal print quality during 3D printing. It also assists in printing larger models with materials prone to warping, such as ABS, PC, and nylon.

Installation steps

Step 1: Align the plate with the fixed points of the platform, with the plate name facing you.

Step 2: Lower the plate and attach it to the magnetic platform.
