Bambu Lab AMS

Overview:

• Bambu Lab AMS is an intelligent system that communicates with the print head to ensure smooth feeding and automatic filament switching during printing. It can detect filament tension and actively adjust the feeding speed. Using RFID technology, Bambu Lab AMS identifies the loaded filament and automatically configures the most appropriate print settings.
• Bambu Lab AMS is equipped with humidity sensors and an airtight housing, keeping the filament dry and ready for use. This is particularly useful for engineering-grade materials such as nylon and polycarbonate, which absorb moisture.
• Each Bambu Lab AMS consists of 4 filament slots and up to 4 AMS units can be installed in parallel. With multiple filament slots, you can now use snap-away support material or soluble filament to facilitate support removal.
• Each AMS comes with 3 reusable spools

Note:

1. The AMS supports spools with a width of 50-68 mm and a diameter of approximately 200 mm. When using the AMS, we recommend using Bambu Filament, which has been thoroughly tested in combination with the AMS. If you purchase one AMS unit, it comes with a filament buffer. If you plan to connect multiple AMS units together, you must purchase the AMS hub.

2. Ensure you do not use soft materials such as TPU or damp PVA, as these can become stuck in the AMS. It is also strongly recommended to avoid abrasive filaments such as glow-in-the-dark and other particle-filled filaments such as CF, as these can cause premature wear and malfunctions to the AMS feeding funnel.

3. Try to avoid using cardboard spools with the AMS. The rollers inside the AMS control the rotation of the spools through friction between the plastic rim of the spool and the rubber rollers. Cardboard spools provide minimal friction, may have torn or deformed edges, and will therefore slip or jam, which can cause malfunctions or damage to the AMS.
