High Z-axis precision printing

Using a smooth PEI plate contributes to improved Z-axis precision during the printing process, ensuring greater accuracy and consistency in the vertical dimension. These features make the Smooth PEI plate an excellent choice for printing parts that require a high degree of fit accuracy, where precise alignment and tight tolerances are crucial.

Smooth and matte surface finish

The use of a specially selected matte PEI sheet can provide a smooth and matte texture to the underside of the printed object, enhancing the overall appearance.

Compatible with various filaments

PEI allows you to print not only with common materials like PLA, TPU, PETG, but also with materials that require high temperatures, such as ABS and nylon.

Note: Apply glue to prevent the sheet from tearing if you are printing with filaments other than PLA.

Reliable magnetic adhesion to prevent warping

The Bambu Smooth PEI plate features a 0.5 mm thick spring steel plate that improves magnetic adhesion. This helps prevent warping and ensures optimal print quality during 3D printing. It also helps when printing larger models with materials prone to warping, such as ABS, PC, and nylon.

Considerations

Please note that with the smooth PEI plate on the A1, there is a higher risk of the plate curling at the corners, or of printed models detaching from the plate. This is caused by the thicker Smooth PEI applied to the plate, which increases the distance to the bed magnets and reduces the magnetic attraction force.
If bubbles appear on the bottom of the plate, heating it on the heatbed at a temperature of up to 80 degrees for several hours may help eliminate the bubbles.
The accumulation of dust and grease on the build plate will reduce adhesion. It is recommended to clean the surface regularly with detergent and water to maintain the best adhesion.
Do not clean the smooth PEI with acetone, as this will damage the PEI surface.
Always wait a few minutes before removing printed models so the plate can cool down and prints can be removed easily. This prevents damage to the plate and ensures a long lifespan for the product.
Sanding the surface carefully with fine sandpaper (600 grit is recommended) can help restore adhesion.
The smooth PEI plate is considered a consumable part that will degrade over time. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects, not cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents, or cracks. Only plates that are defective upon arrival are covered under warranty.
