The Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga was developed for projects where a standard 3D printer is simply not big enough. Large-format 3D printing without limitations

With its exceptionally large print volume, the Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga is among the largest FDM 3D printers in its class. Objects that normally have to be built from multiple separate parts can often be produced in one piece with this printer.

This saves time during post-processing and reduces the need to glue parts together or join them mechanically afterwards. This makes the printer particularly interesting for prototyping, advertising production, interior design, art objects, costumes, and industrial applications, among others.

Four independently heatable PEI build plates

The print bed consists of four magnetic PEI build plates, each measuring 410 × 410 mm. The different zones can be heated individually or simultaneously.

Sensors automatically detect which part of the print bed the model is placed on. As a result, only the necessary surface needs to be heated. This helps reduce energy consumption when printing smaller objects.

The individual zones can also be set manually. Under suitable conditions, the entire print bed reaches a temperature of 90 °C within approximately 17 minutes. The maximum bed temperature is 100 °C.

Stable and robust construction

The OrangeStorm Giga is built for large and long-lasting print jobs. The sturdy frame construction ensures stability, while the linear guides on the X and Y axes contribute to smooth and precise movement of the print head.

The robust Z-axis guide supports smooth vertical movement and precise positioning. Anti-slip feet help keep the machine stable on its surface.

Print speeds up to 300 mm/s

Despite its size, the Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga can reach a maximum print speed of 300 mm/s. For a good balance between print speed and quality, Elegoo recommends a speed of approximately 150 mm/s.

The printer is powered by a powerful 64-bit RK3328 quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. This allows large print files and complex movements to be processed efficiently.

Expandable to multiple print heads

The OrangeStorm Giga comes with one print head as standard. The X-axis offers the possibility to connect up to three additional print heads.

With this optional expansion, multiple identical objects can be produced simultaneously. Depending on the configuration used, different colors of filament of the same material can also be applied. The additional print heads are available separately.

High-temperature hotend up to 300 °C

The updated print head is suitable for temperatures up to 300 °C. The chrome-zirconium-copper nozzle is combined with a titanium heatbreak, a direct-drive extruder with dual drive, and a powerful 60-watt ceramic heating element.

This construction ensures fast heating and reliable filament delivery. A 0.6 mm nozzle is included as standard. Optional nozzles of 0.4, 0.8, and 1.0 mm are available.

Powerful cooling and precise temperature control

The print head features two 5015 blowers and one 4010 axial fan. These ensure even cooling of the printed material and contribute to clean details and reliable layer adhesion.

After a print job is finished, the fans can be switched off automatically. This lowers energy consumption, limits noise, and helps extend the lifespan of the fans.

Thanks to automatic PID calibration, the nozzle temperature is precisely regulated. A built-in acceleration sensor also assists in the automatic setting of resonance compensation.

Automatic leveling on 121 measurement points

The Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga measures the print surface at 121 different points. The contactless, highly accurate sensor maps small height differences and compensates for them during printing.

With automatic leveling, the large print bed can be adjusted more easily and accurately, which is important for a reliable first layer.
